I've been writing regularly about the Internet since 1994. I'd like to thank my many faithful readers who have encouraged me to put my columns online. And I'd like to thank all of you who have expressed appreciation for my writing. So who's Jim Karpen? Ph.D., college professor, Internet devotee. I teach writing at Maharishi University of Management in Fairfield, Iowa. I've been interested in the revolutionary consequences of computer technology ever since writing my Ph.D. dissertation in 1984 at Bowling Green State University. It was a study of the "digitzed word" and anticipated some of the changes that have taken place with the Internet. |
